Prospective candidates will be required to complete the following:

Work Experience, Recognition and Awards
Student Signature
Parent/Guardian Signature

3. Turn in requested information by the due dated stated in the letter of eligibility.

Selection Process

The selection procedure of new members shall take place during the fourth quarter of each school term.

Each candidate will have an interview with the Faculty Council on a designated date.

Selection for membership is by majority vote of the Faculty Council.

In evaluating potential members, the Faculty Council considers the interview, essay and the activity information.  All teachers also have an opportunity to comment on each student.  Most importantly, the Faculty Council seeks to determine that the candidate meets the criteria for selection:  leadership, service, scholarship and character.   Once selected, members have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate these qualities.

Notification

All candidates will be notified by mail of their selection or non-selection in a timely manner.

Continuation of Membership

Continued membership in National Honor Society will be contingent upon the following:

1. Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.25.

2. Adhere to all other stipulations in the constitution and by-laws.
A current copy of the by-laws will be given to all members in September.
