Line of Authority
When misunderstandings arise at school and parents are concerned about reports from their children, requests for information should first be directed to the teacher. The principal of that attendance center should be contacted if the problem continues.
If the problem was ignored or the difficulty continues, referral of that problem should be made to the District Superintendent.
The School Board should be the highest and the line of authority. Many times, teachers and principals are not given the opportunity to hear a complaint first hand. The board’s major responsibility is to establish district policy and rules of operation for administrators, teachers and other personnel. They should not be subjected to problems that could be managed at the attendance center.
Parents cooperation in observing this line of authority will help the board maintain a high degree of staff morale and also encourage capable personnel to remain in our community longer.
