On January 17th, three students traveled to Salina South to audition for a highly competitive spot in the Kansas 1234A All-State Band. After that audition, two of the students — Austin McConnell and Lena Stucky — earned a spot in the All-State Band.
Austin and Lena will travel to Wichita on February 26th to rehearse and perform with some of the state's best musicians at the Kansas 1234A All-State Band. They will be putting on a concert with the rest of their band at Century II arena in Wichita on Saturday, February 28th.
This is a proud moment for the band. It is the first time since 2015 that we are representing our school in an All-State ensemble. The last students to represent our school in the All-State band were Nick Sumner on Trombone from 2010-13, Don Curtis on Tuba in 2013-14, and Hannah Mondragon on Bass Clarinet in 2015.
Congratulations Lena and Austin!

OCES: Osage City Elementary students were treated to a wonderful assembly hosted by the Osage City PTA. Students were fully engaged in science experiments by the Extreme Scientist. Thank you, PTA! What a great assembly!
OCES: Is that a new student? Thank you to Mr. Crawford at the high school, who shared his baby donkey with the elementary students today.
